Jemaine Clement was the showrunner for the first season or so, so a lot of the joy of the movie came along: the occasional but silly gore, the very silly banality of sharing a living space, et cetera. They are original characters that I enjoy a lot... but Matt Berry as the resident pervert and resident enjoyer of enunciation Lazlo is my favorite.
And there are cameos from the original cast at some point. I won't say when. To try and lure you into this box propped up by a stick.
