Gotta say: I finished the finale and my first order of business was to unfollow the few fan accounts I followed on IG. I could sense the impending fandom drama like an old war wound acting up. The ache of fandom_wank was upon me.

Oct. 12th, 2023 09:38 pmOther than being a little peeved that this show forced me to do homework, e.g. read the Wikipedia entry about "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" and Google "what is a waxing gibbous moon?" I give both episodes A+++s (four plus subtracted for homework).
( Spoilers about the best way to prepare a rabbit, Frenchie's beautiful body, when Jim and Dwight can work in harmony, and, of course, fishing )
Anyway, more later because my head is just Anne Bonny's wonderful, terrible ugly fucking cuckoo clock.
Oh, yeah, and! And! Stede's repeated use of "doggie heaven" like someone who just learned the term "synergy" is... just exquisite.

I waited* until 8 PM yesterday to watch the first 3 eps of OFMD S2 at the request of Julie, who was fooled/badgered into watching the series by me a year ago. We texted each other throughout so it’s safe to say I’m going to watch the episodes one** more time to catch all the nuances/nonverbal reactions/jokes I may have missed the first time around.
*Because I cannot, nor woah-not stop being a greedy thing, I snarfed up a whole bunch of early reviews, peeked at some IG content, and, at the height of willpower breakdown, watched the first 5+ minutes of ep 1 at 4 AM after feeding the cats. Blame Stan! Stan made me do it! Don’t tell Julie!
